Core i5-13500H Replaced with Core i5-12450H
Xiaomi has announced that the RedmiBook 16 for the 2024 model year is now available for pre-order on Xiaomi Youpin at a price of $475 for the 16/512 GB version and $500 for the 16 GB / 1 TB version.
The RedmiBook 16 2024 features a 16-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 × 1200 pixels, a 120 Hz frame rate, and a maximum brightness of 400 cd/m². The screen covers 100% of the sRGB color space and has received Rheinland certification for low blue light levels and flicker-free performance.
The laptop has an all-metal body approximately 15.9 mm thick and weighs about 1.63 kg. It is equipped with a 56 Wh battery and a 100 W GaN adapter. The laptop can play 1080P local video for up to 14 hours. It is equipped with four microphones and two speakers. The laptop supports Dolby Atmos technology.
The laptop is equipped with a 12th generation Intel Core i5-12450H processor. It should be noted that a version with a Core i5-13500H was released in November, priced between $615 and $655 depending on the memory capacity.
The device is equipped with a 3.5 mm audio interface, HDMI2.1, two USB-A3.2 Gen1 ports, one full-featured USB-C3.2 Gen2, and one USB-2.0.
The more affordable version of the RedmiBook 16 2024 represents Xiaomi’s strategy to offer high-performance laptops at competitive prices. The reduction in cost is primarily achieved by replacing the higher-end Core i5-13500H processor with the Core i5-12450H. This change likely offers a balance between performance and cost-effectiveness, making the device more accessible to a broader audience.
Despite the processor downgrade, the RedmiBook 16 2024 retains several high-quality features. Its 120 Hz display, coupled with full sRGB coverage, ensures a smooth and vibrant visual experience, which is beneficial for both casual and professional users. The certification for low blue light and flicker-free display underlines the focus on user comfort and eye protection.
The laptop’s all-metal body, long battery life, and support for Dolby Atmos audio technology highlight its suitability for multimedia consumption and productivity tasks. The range of connectivity options, including USB-C and HDMI ports, enhances its versatility for various peripherals and external displays.
This release illustrates Xiaomi’s commitment to offering technology that balances performance, quality, and affordability. The RedmiBook 16 2024 is positioned to appeal to users seeking a robust laptop for everyday use, multimedia, and light gaming, without breaking the bank.
