AMD quietly added the specifications of the previously unannounced Ryzen 5 5700 model, without the “G” or “X” suffixes, to its website. Meanwhile, information about the estimated prices of the Ryzen 7 5700X3D and representatives of the Ryzen 8000G series, expected early next year, as well as about some Ryzen 5000GT models, surfaced online.
The AMD website now lists the unannounced Ryzen 7 5700 processor. This chip almost exactly mirrors the characteristics of the already released Ryzen 7 5700G from the Cezanne series. However, unlike the G-version, which is a hybrid processor with integrated graphics, the Ryzen 7 5700 appears to lack an integrated graphics core.
As it turned out earlier, AMD processors win over Intel processors in AI tasks
According to the AMD website, the Ryzen 7 5700 is an eight-core, 16-thread processor with a base frequency of 3.7 GHz and a Boost frequency of 4.6 GHz. The chip is reported to have a nominal power consumption of 65 watts and 16 MB of L3 cache memory. The company’s website notes that the processor was released on April 4th. However, as several sources report, the Ryzen 7 5700 was only released today, December 21, 2023.
Rumors about the Ryzen 7 5700 have been circulating since June 2022. Despite these early leaks, the chip did not appear on the market. According to VideoCardz, Gigabyte added support for the chip to its Socket AM4 boards only this year.
In related news about AMD processors, Ryzen 7 5700X3D, Ryzen 5 5600GT, and Ryzen 5 5500G chips were spotted in databases of some Asian retailers. These models have not yet been officially introduced by AMD. The announcement of these processor models is expected only in the first quarter of next year. Along with them, the manufacturer plans to release the first hybrid processors of the Ryzen 8000G series for the Socket AM5 platform. Information about these upcoming products was discovered by data miner and internet detective @momomo_us, who found not only their AMD OPN marking codes but also data about their preliminary prices.
Available information suggests that the price of the eight-core Ryzen 7 8700G model ranges from $340 to $440, depending on the retailer. Six-core models Ryzen 5 8600G and Ryzen 5 8500G are priced by various retailers from $190 to $310. Obviously, these prices are not official, and the final word remains with AMD.
There is also information about the expected prices of the upcoming Ryzen 7 5700X3D with additional cache memory. In the US, the retail price of the chip should range from $260 to $330. Prices below $200 are predicted for the Ryzen 5 5600GT and Ryzen 5 5500GT models. All these chips are intended for use with the Socket AM4 processor socket.
Adding to this information, the release of these new processors by AMD represents a significant update to their product line. AMD has been known for providing high-performance processors at competitive prices, catering to both gamers and professionals. The Ryzen 5000 series, with its advanced architecture and improved energy efficiency, has already made a mark in the market.
The Ryzen 7 5700, with its high core and thread count, is likely aimed at users who require strong multi-threaded performance for tasks like video editing, 3D rendering, and heavy multitasking. The lack of an integrated GPU in the Ryzen 7 5700 might mean a lower price point compared to its G-series counterpart, making it an attractive option for users who already have a dedicated graphics card.
The upcoming Ryzen 7 5700X3D, with its additional cache memory, is expected to offer even better performance, particularly in gaming and other applications that can benefit from a larger cache. This aligns with AMD’s strategy to target the gaming market, where faster memory can significantly impact performance.
The introduction of Ryzen 8000G series processors for the Socket AM5 platform indicates AMD’s commitment to advancing its technology. These processors are expected to be hybrid, combining the advantages of integrated graphics and CPU power, which could be a game-changer for compact and efficient PC builds.
Overall, AMD’s continued innovation and expansion of its processor lineup is a strong indication of its commitment to remaining competitive in the CPU market, offering a variety of options for different user needs and price points.
