Ryzen 8000G series specifications.Hawk Point Processors

ASRock has revealed the specifications of the AMD Ryzen 8000G series (Hawk Point) desktop processors. This includes the Ryzen 8700G, 8600G, 8500G, and 8300G for the AM5 socket.

Information about these chips had been published earlier, but this is the first time the specifications are disclosed not by third-party sources, but by one of AMD’s official partners. This means one can be 100% certain that the chips will be released with these specifications.

AMD Ryzen 8

The new Hawk Point APUs will be based on the Zen 4 processor architecture and will feature an integrated RDNA 3 GPU.

Specifications of the AMD Ryzen 8000G:

AMD Ryzen 8000G will be released in both PRO and Non-PRO versions. They will not differ in specifications. The flagship of the new series will be the Ryzen 7 8700G — an 8-core, 16-thread chip with a base clock speed of 4.2 GHz and a Boost frequency of 5.1 GHz.

The Ryzen 5 8600G, apparently, will be 8-core, although previous leaks mentioned 6 cores. The Ryzen 5 8500G is a 6-core, 12-thread chip, and the Ryzen 3 8300G will have 4 cores and 8 threads.

ASRock published a screenshot from CPU-Z showing that the Ryzen 7 8700G was used in conjunction with the X670E Taichi motherboard and 256 GB of DDR5-6000 memory. This means the new processors will support new DDR5 modules with a capacity of 64 GB.

It is still unknown whether AMD will add an XDNA NPU for AI work to the Ryzen 8000G, which is already used in the mobile Ryzen 7040/8040.

Update: ASUS has also published information about the Ryzen 8000G.

The new AMD APUs are expected to be launched on January 31.
